Hi everyone! I’d love to share the story of how my Beagle, Charlie, went from being a cheeky little puppy to becoming a therapy dog. It’s been quite the adventure, and I’m so proud of how far he’s come!
When I first got Charlie, he was a little ball of energy, constantly getting into trouble! From digging up the garden to chewing on my shoes, I never knew what he’d get up to next. But as we spent more time together, I noticed how incredibly affectionate he was, always comforting me when I was feeling down.
That’s when the idea of him becoming a therapy dog came to me. I started researching, and we began training together. It wasn’t easy at first, especially since he loved playing more than listening, but with patience and a lot of treats, Charlie gradually learned how to stay calm in different environments.
The big moment came when we passed the therapy dog certification! I’ll never forget the first time we visited a nursing home – Charlie immediately made a connection with an elderly lady, and the smile on her face was unforgettable. It was in that moment I knew Charlie was meant for this.
Now, every month, we visit hospitals and senior care centers, bringing joy and comfort to people who need it the most. Charlie’s transformation from a mischievous pup to a calming, comforting presence has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.
I’d love to hear your pet’s story too! How did your furry friend surprise you with their abilities or growth?
